DESCRIBE YOUR STYLE IN 3 WORDS
Maximalist. Organic. Sophisticated.
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO START TWOSTYLE, AND WHAT’S THE MEANING BEHIND THE NAME?
Initially, the intention behind the name was to simply say "To Style" as a verb. To create, to enliven, and to enrich a space. However, it also pays homage to the two of us as sisters, and so it became a play on words! We come from a background of property development and started Twostyle to be able to provide the end product—to service developments, and from our love for interiors.

HOW DO YOUR STYLES AS DIRECTORS BOTH CONTRAST AND COMPLEMENT ONE ANOTHER?
Elle’s style is organic neutral, while Alanah’s is maximalism. This juxtaposition is what creates the essence of Twostyle. We’re known for mixing the bold and edgy with the soft and elegant, and we feel this truly sets us apart from others.
WHAT ARE YOUR TOP STYLE TIPS TO MAKE A SPACE FEEL INVITING, UNIQUE AND INSPIRING?
Alanah: Texture on texture. Colour. Statement pieces—while keeping your main elements pared back and neutral so the space emits the overall feeling of cosiness and 'home.'
Elle: Functional, open spaces that are breathable and uncluttered. We design to the space, meaning we tailor our selections to what the space needs.

WHAT'S THE ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD TELL YOUR YOUNGER SELVES?
Stay persistent.

We’re incredibly excited about two large-scale interior design projects we’re currently in the midst of, that really showcase our capabilities as a design house. Stay tuned!
HOW DO YOU THOUGHTFULLY BLEND YOUR CLIENT'S PERSONALITY WITH TWOSTYLE'S DISTINCT VISION IN EACH PROJECT?
We understand and value a client's needs and requirements for the space as the most important thing. We always start with that and make sure we understand them. Then, we inject our design flair by helping the client push the boundaries to exceed their own expectations.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE PART OF ANY PROJECT?
Elle: The start. I love the 'figuring out' and the problem-solving—reading people and conceptualising what’s to come.
Alanah: The middle and the end. When you’ve agreed on the design direction and get to watch it come to life.
IF YOU COULD STYLE ANYONE'S HOME, WHOSE WOULD IT BE?
Anyone who gives us the chance to transform their space is a dream client.
ANY KEY PIECES, TRENDS, OR COLOUR PALETTES YOU ARE LOVING AT THE MOMENT?
We’re loving blue at the moment, especially deep navy and soft powder blue. Pairing these with beige and chrome makes up our current go-to palette that’s fresh yet timeless.

Our travels. Global architecture, interiors, and fashion inspire us. It’s the things we don’t see around us every day—the different and the exciting—that we try to incorporate into our work.
WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST DESIGN NO-NO?
Dark and bulky furniture in small spaces.
WHAT COULDN'T YOU DO WITHOUT WHEN CREATING A SPACE?
A pop of colour, always.
WHAT’S THE ONE DESIGN ELEMENT YOU THINK IS OFTEN OVERLOOKED BUT MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE?
Lighting. It not only sets the tone and mood, but it also has the ability to transform a space.

Becoming an interior design house, really showcasing our capability as interior designers, and making our mark in the industry. We have so much to show, and this is only just the beginning.
