Our story began almost two decades ago through a shared vision between founders Simon Robinson and Yosi Tal.
With decades of experience in the rug industry, they recognised an opportunity to offer premium handcrafted rugs that combined thoughtful design with local availability and dependable stockholding for Australian designers.

From the beginning, every Tallira rug has been designed in-house before being handcrafted by skilled artisans in India, where long-standing manufacturing partnerships continue to shape the quality of every collection.

Tallira has always been built around the design community.
For many years, our collections were available exclusively through interior designers, furniture retailers and trade partners, who continue to play an important role in our business today.
As demand grew, opening Tallira directly to homeowners became a natural progression, making our collections more accessible while maintaining the dedicated trade support designers rely on.
Today, designers and homeowners alike can experience the same curated collections, personalised service and commitment to quality.
As our collections expanded and our role within the design industry evolved, it became clear that our identity needed to evolve too.
As our offering expanded beyond rugs, our previous name no longer reflected the breadth of the business.
Tallira represents that evolution.
Inspired by the Tal family name and Robinson’s daughter, Allira, the name reflects both our heritage and our evolving vision for contemporary interiors.
While the name has changed, the principles behind it have not.
